Hi Guys,
I have this client (organization) who uses an old MYOB probably v.8 for their accounts and payroll and the computer (Windows XP) crashed. I was able to retrieve all data but now I can't restore MYOB because I can't find the setup and correct serials for re-installation. To make matters worse the accounts guy wasn't around at the time of installation and that particular PC is dated back to probably 2005. Due to XP reaching its End of Life already the client suggested that I help in an upgrade. Preferably to a new PC with windows 7 and a newer version of MYOB. Since this is my first time coming across myob I'd like advice on how best to go about this. Considering that;
1. Work Environments will only allow for the package to be fully available offline most of the time. This is due to our remote geographical location and that bandwidth is very costly here.
2. Is there a way I could retrieve the serial from the data files and probably use it in an upgraded version that is compatible in Windows 7 x86? or
3. Retrieve the serial and use it on the same v.8 setup on a PC with OEM XP. ( I can't find the v.8 setup either)
4. I'd be happy to suggest paying for a newer version but something that is suitable that can cater for all their older data.
