Mistake in setting up Item's Linking Account

HI

I discoveerd that of the newly added item to my item list was wrongly linked to other account ( the cost of goods sold was linked to Sales ) so i had difference between TOTAL SALES in the Item Sale Report and TOTAL ICOME in the profit and loss statement .. i changed the linking account but still having the same difference when i generate those two reports.

Any advice how to deal with this issue ???
